Works as described. Changed my whole hair routine (and I'm still figuring out what to do about it)
I bought a sample pack of the mud and found it fixed my dry scalp/flaking at least as well as my previous shampoo (Act + Acre) which I liked quite a bit already. The typical wash cycle for my hair goes from clean, and a bit too dry, to greasy over about 4 days. Where this product wins it that it basically resets me to day 2. Since day 3 is probably my best hair day, and day 1 always sucks a little (too dry), this is a really impressive product for giving me a really nice, relaxed style right out of the shower. Overall, I can also just feel that my hair is really balanced and fluctuating between dry and greasy MUCH less.
Now for the styling. I've always used a dry clay pomade (baxters) and it has given me an unbeatable combo of hold and texture in a dry look (so it all looks natural) for 10+ years. With the mud my hair looks the best it ever has without product, but i still usually need some (hair is 2+ inches long). My conundrum is that I'm finding that this shampoo changes my hair so dramatically that the same pomade isn't working quite as well anymore--it's making my hair a bit greasy. Since starting with the mud, I've used hanz de fuko clay, baxters clay and bumble and bumble sumotech and the latter 2 are now too greasy for my hair. So there's some adjustments to make.
The last piece is that since this product resets my hair to day 2, I also need to wash it more regularly (before I was going 3-5 days between washes). This means I need to spend more time styling it. All said, my hair is clearly the best off from this shampoo than it has ever been and they deserve credit for that. Just want to share how it changed my whole hair regimen! Since I prefer washing a bit less, I think I'm going to try the bar before getting a bottle of the mud.
